Loss and applying for replacement copies

Please note the following information:

  • Please do not sit an exam if you are ill, as the mark will count, no matter how poor it is!
  • What’s more, you could pass it on to your fellow students and the examiners! Nobody wants that!
  • If this is not an examination with an expiring deadline, please simply do not take part!
  • If the examination must be sat because of expiring deadlines (‘Grundlagen- und Orientierungsprüfung’ – GOP, foundation and orientation examination –, resit examinations, expiry of the standard period of study), you will need a valid medical certificate – whereas, in the event of repeated illness, you will need a valid certificate from a public health officer – which must contain at least the following information:
    1. A statement confirming that an examination has been carried out by the certifying doctor.
    2. Day of the examination.
    3. A detailed description, from a medical perspective, of the current physical, mental and/or psychological impairments caused by illness and relevant to the examination, and their impact on the students’ ability to sit the examination (no diagnosis).
    4. To determine whether, and if so, for what period, a person is or has been medically unfit to sit an examination.

PLEASE NOTE: A certificate of incapacity for work is NOT a valid medical certificate and is therefore not sufficient! A template for a medical certificate (application for an extension; withdrawal from an examination that has already begun) can be found under ‘Examination committee’.

IMPORTANT: Hochschule München does not cover the costs of medical examinations, specialist examinations, public health examinations or medical certificates.

As you wish to use the medical certificate to request that the examination be postponed until the next exam period, you must also submit an application for an extension to the relevant examination board:

The written application for an extension must contain the following information:

  • Your name
  • Request for an extension
  • Name of the examination(s) in question which you were unable to sit
  • Date of the examination(s) in question which you were unable to sit

The application for an extension must be submitted, together with the certified medical certificate, within one week of the examination date via PRIMUSS Online Services under Services > Applications and Messages > Select application/form > Examination > Application for deadline extension in the Examination and Internship Office.
